Greece's environment is under threat from developments, the Greek Government has produced a plan for all the islands, outlying areas of natural beauty, forests, natural habitats, nature parks, theses areas are now protected. The issues of the environment do not stop with just allocated areas of protection, the buildings that are designed and constructed in development zones need to help with the protection of the environment with green buildings. The Federation advises all clients to assist with eco friendly products and buildings, as not only can this help the environment but also be more comfortable to live in. 

We as a Greek Federation are actively involved in the environment as custodians for the Greek children of tomorrow, we actually promote environmental issues and use the most effectively environmentally friendly materials in the building of homes. We directly and indirectly protect the Greek environment wherever possible our policy statement on environmental issues is close to all the hearts of the Federation. All members of the  Federation Architects Engineers Builders are fully committed to our policy statement on environmental issues.

The company builds homes to European Building Standard Codes 3,4,6,8 with environmentally sound considerations. We recognise that our business impacts the environment. We will seek to minimise these impacts where ever possible.

In order to ensure continual improvement of our environmental performance we will work to implement and maintain an environmental management system to the ISO14001:2004 standard and compliant with the Eco Management Audit Scheme (EMAS).

WE  SHALL  ENDEAVOR  TO  :

Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and best practice.

Work to reduce to the lowest practical minimum the level of pollution caused by reducing energy consumption and harmful emissions from our operations, and including vehicles, buildings, storage, equipment and waste.

Work with our suppliers to minimise the impact of their operations through a partnership approach with our purchasing policy and to develop where practical new products and services which seek to achieve greater sustainability, for example using technical specifications designed for Greece using air conditioning systems, solar panels manufactured in Greece and building Panel Systems for heat generation along with other technology materials of high environmental impact values.

                                               Water  :  

We will use registered bore-holes or other sources of Government approved water supplies wherever possible in our home building. We will also work towards improving water waste management.

                                               Energy :

We will choose locations that enables wind power and other reusable energy production to be used wherever possible.

                                         Seismic Activity :   

We will use the latest technology designed to reduce the impact of Seismic activity.

                                        Noise Insulation :

We will use the latest technology in sound proofing to minimise the impact of noise pollution.

                                      Home Maintenance :

We will use technology designed to reduce the need for paints and solvents in house maintenance.

This policy will be made available to any interested parties on request.
